Waudmaus Story
Waudmaus was born from heritage, hands-on craft, and a quiet promise to honor both.
Founder Dawn Castro, an enrolled member of the Wasco Tribe, part of the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs in Oregon, grew up shaped by Native tradition and a deep sense of identity passed down through her mother’s stories—including her lineage to Billy Chinook, guide to the Fremont Expedition. She’s also a member of the Native American Arts and Crafts Board.
As a child, Dawn sold earrings at Pow Wows for snack money. Years later, that early spark became purpose. Today, Waudmaus designs and produces competition-quality regalia, ribbon skirts, beadwork, and western wear made in limited batches with uncompromising construction and cultural respect. Every piece is built for movement, durability, and pride.
Waudmaus doesn’t follow trends. It carries tradition.
